Tokyo Mid 30s

This summer, the brutally real drama of being 35 begins!
Starring RIISA NAKA in her first leading role in a Fuji TV drama series! This series is a romance-and-human drama that captures the realities of life for women at 35. Based on the smash-hit Chinese drama ”Nothing But Thirty,” the series is an original Japanese remake. The story follows three women who leave their hometowns for the Tokyo they've always dreamed of, envisioning bright futures and success. Faced with the realities of love, work, and family that do not always go according to plan, they cry together, support one another, and burst into laughter over the smallest things as they search for a life that is true to themselves at the crossroads of turning 35. Even when life is hard, knowing you're not alone gives you the strength to keep going. And yet, there are moments when someone else's life suddenly seems dazzling. Against the backdrop of relationships where kindness and envy exist side by side, the drama portrays each woman confronting her own life with honesty and authenticity, without resorting to easy answers or idealized happy endings. RIISA NAKA stars as the lead, marking her first leading role in a Fuji TV drama series. It's so real it hurts—but that's exactly why you can't look away. And somehow, it leaves you wanting to take that next step into tomorrow. Whether you're approaching 35 or have long since passed it, this story of new beginnings and self-reflection, dedicated to all women living in the present, begins this summer!

The new Thursday 10 p.m. drama starring Yuki Uchida & Takuto Teranishi! Yuki Uchida marking her first leading role in a Fuji Television Network drama since 1996. And for Teranishi, making it his first-ever lead role in a commercial network drama series! The series is an original romantic drama that tells the story of ones with a significant age difference whose lives were never meant to intersect. Despite coming from entirely different backgrounds and having led very different lives, the two are quietly drawn to one another and ultimately find themselves swept into the most intense love of their lives. The title refers to the final stage of a perfume’s fragrance as it evolves over time. A perfume begins with its top note—the first impression experienced upon application—before transitioning to its middle note, the scent that forms the heart of the fragrance. Finally comes the lingering scent that blends with the wearer's skin and leaves behind a fragrance uniquely their own. Just like that lingering last note, the story portrays a mature and deeply moving love story in which feelings long kept hidden begin to resurface and fill the air once more. The drama centers on two people: Aoi Ichinose, a 49-year-old woman who has experienced both the joys and hardships of life and now lives contentedly, believing she needs no further change; and Subaru Higuchi, a 30-year-old man who gave up on his dreams because of the circumstances in which he was raised and has spent his life suppressing his true self. Each has drifted through life for reasons of their own.
But when an unexpected encounter brings them together, they begin to confront emotions they had long kept buried. As they awaken feelings, they thought they had sealed away forever, their lives are set on a course from which there is no turning back. What will be left behind by the most passionate love of the lives of two people whose ages, experiences and paths should never have crossed?

Dean Fujioka to Lead a Fuji TV Drama Series for the First Time in Six and a Half Years! Takes on a New Challenge as an Eccentric Genius Forensic Pathologist! Acclaimed actress Kumi Takiuchi joins as a government official, marking her first collaboration with Dean Fujioka as an unconventional new duo takes shape! The forensic human mystery series “LOVED ONE,” starring Dean Fujioka, will premiere April 8 in Fuji TV’s Wednesday 10 p.m. drama slot. An entirely original production, the series confronts head-on the societal issue of deaths classified as having “unknown causes” in Japan. Using the traces left behind by the deceased as clues, the story uncovers hidden truths while revealing the proof of lives once lived. The title LOVED ONE refers to a term used by forensic professionals as a mark of respect for the deceased. Rather than reducing a person to “the dead,” it acknowledges them as someone who was once loved — a family member, a partner, a friend. Tracing the silent final evidence they leave behind, members of the newly formed forensic investigation team “MEJ” take on a series of challenging cases, portrayed with emotional depth and careful attention to the human stories behind them. Dean Fujioka stars as an eccentric yet brilliant forensic pathologist who returns to Japan after working in the United States. The role marks Fujioka’s first leading turn in a Fuji TV drama series in approximately six and a half years. Also joining the cast is actress Kumi Takiuchi, playing an ambitious government official appointed director of MEJ. The project marks her first appearance in a Fuji TV drama series in approximately five years and her first on-screen collaboration with Dean Fujioka. Expectations are high for the dynamic new partnership emerging from the actors’ first pairing!

With nothing left to him, he surrendered himself to fate, giving up on any hopes for the future, and lost the will to make his own choices in life.
But one day, a chance encounter threw him a lifeline that could change his fate forever.
"If you follow the client's instructions, we'll set you free..."
Appearing before him out of nowhere, a lawyer spoke to him, and he immediately accepted the offer. And thus, Chifune Yanagisawa came into his life.
A major contributor to the success of the large Yanagisawa Group corporation, she was also, apparently, his late mother's half-sister.
"I have orders for you," she claimed. Those orders were to become the Keeper of the Camphor Tree of Tsukisato Shrine.
Though bewildered by such a sudden request, Reito did as he was told, and found himself meeting with the many people patronizing the shrine:
Toshiaki Saji, a man who visits the camphor tree on a regular basis.
Toshiaki's daughter, Yumi Saji, a college student who finds her father's actions suspicious.
Soki Oba, a young man struggling with his role in taking over the family business.
As Reito interacts with them and Chifune, his formerly bleak world begins to take on new life.
――But what he had yet to discover was this: The true power that camphor tree possessed.
Eventually, Reito's days are consumed by the swirling mysteries of the camphor tree, as he is led towards an unexpected, hidden truth.
