The long-awaited live action film adaptation of the blockbuster manga (over 2.12 million copies sold) considered the “Bible of First Love!” The heroine, Suzume Yosano, will be played by Mei Nagano, whose appearances in TV dramas, films and commercials make her the rising star of 2017. Mei and her co-stars, teen heartthrobs Shohei Miura as her teacher and Aran Shirahama (of EXILE/GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE) as her classmate, will form a unique “love triangle.” Directing the film is Takehiko Shinjo, who set the new standard for the teen romance genre in works such as “Beyond the Memories (Kiyoku Yawaku)” and “Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso).”

Suzume Yosano (Mei Nagano) is a naïve, country girl who transfers to a high school in Tokyo. When she gets lost on her first day in the big city, a man named Shishio (Shohei Miura) comes to her rescue. He turns out to be her homeroom teacher. Suzume begins to develop feelings for Shishio that she has never felt before…

Suzume’s straightforward confession of love places Shishio in an awkward situation as her teacher. While Shishio grapples with how to respond, Suzume’s classmate Mamura, (Aran Shirahama), who supposedly has an aversion to girls, tells her he’s in love with her.
