■Virtual Adventure Island 2022 – Approximately 670,000 Visitors, a Record Number!
■Odaiba Adventure Island 2022 – Approximately 730,000 Visitors!
‘Virtual Adventure Island 2022’ (Thursday, August 11 to Sunday, August 28) hosted by Fuji Television has now come to a close. Last year’s Metaverse event, which became a signature one for the summer, was awarded with the Gold Stevie® Award in the ‘Innovation in Entertainment Events’ category at the ninth annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
Although it was held for 18 days (five days less than last year), along with the real event ‘Odaiba Adventure Island 2022’ which began on Saturday, July 23, the total number of visitors reached approximately 1.4 million. This year, in addition to the annual ‘Mezamashi Live,’ new projects were taken to meet users’ expectations, including contents in collaboration with popular TV shows, avatar dress-up functions and merchandise related to artists, and last but not least, the NFT sales project. As a result, both the number of downloads and visitors increased significantly compared to last year.
As for the real event ‘Odaiba Adventure Island 2022,’ which also concluded over the weekend, there were many great exhibits including the one for ‘ONE PIECE FILM – RED’ movie, which has grossed over 10 billion yen at the box office so far. The ‘JO1CX-TV Kitchen’ food and beverages attracted many visitors, making it another exciting year of the ‘real’ and the ‘virtual’ Odaiba, which both provided a variety of exciting entertainment this summer.
