TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL 2021

Introduction

“TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL” (TIF) is the world's largest idol festival held in Odaiba.

In 2010, idols had made a huge comeback and the phrase “Idol Sengoku Jidai” was coined.
This huge boom marked the beginning of Japan’s first ever large-scale idol festival, which was held in Shinagawa, Tokyo.

With the change of the Japanese era from “Heisei” to “Reiwa” in 2019, the festival location also moved to Odaiba, attracting about 90,000 visitors, a direct result of this rising idol boom.

Last year, however, the event was canceled for the first time in 10 years due to the unprecedented situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

And so, this year, the event will be held for the first time in two years, and alongside, Neru Nagahama has been appointed as the new chairperson.

TIF will continue to push forward with the unchanging goal of enlivening and spreading the idol boom, while proactively making new attempts to overcome the headwinds.
