PIPPIN

Introduction

The Japanese version of the Broadway musical which premiered in 2019, will return in the summer of 2022 with a new lead actor, Morisaki Win as ‘Pippin’!

‘PIPPIN’ returned to Broadway in 2013, with a breathtaking and exciting new production. This musical masterpiece received honors in many categories for the Tony Awards that year, including ‘Best Revival of a Musical.’

Directed and choreographed by the legend, Bob Fosse (musical ‘Chicago’/movie ‘Cabaret’), it premiered on Broadway in 1972. It won many Tony Awards even then, and it is fair to say that it's one of the most famous Broadway musicals of all time. It also incorporates exciting dances influenced by Bob Fosse, and thrilling circus acrobatics by an artist originally from Cirque du Soleil, among others. The production, which received great acclaim for its innovative approach, surprised the world with a new kind of musical entertainment that no one had ever seen before.

The premiere of the Japanese version in 2019, was directed by Diane Paulus, who won the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for this production. Starring Yu Shirota, it received standing ovations every time and was a great success. Such a masterpiece musical ‘PIPPIN’ will return in the summer of 2022, with a new cast including Morisaki Win as Pippin, and Ayu Manaka as Catherine.

Other cast members include Crystal Kay, who played the Leading Player in the original Japanese version and won the 'Yomiuri Theater Award' for Best Actress in 2019 for this production, as well as Kiyotaka Imai, Hiromu Kiriya, Ryosuke Okada, Mie Nakao, and Bibari Maeda, all of whom are talented actors. We are pleased to present a 'miraculous moment' once again.

Don't miss the climax that you can only experience in the theater and one you will surely remember!
