The Advanced Imaging Society Lumiere Japan Awards (Lumiere Japan) took place on December 10. Fuji TV’s original programs “Gunkanjima -The Abandoned Island Frozen in Time-” was awarded Grand Prix and “Tokyo Idol Festival 2014” received Special Award in the 4K category.
“Gunkanjima -The Abandoned Island Frozen in Time-” introduces to viewers Gunkanjima’s nostalgic past through photos and video, comparing it to its state in the present, as well as the stories behind life on the island and in the coal mines utilizing forefront technology of drones and computer graphics in full HD 4K video.
“Tokyo Idol Festival 2014” is a live-concert performance video of the Tokyo Idol Festival 2014 featuring 138 idol groups on stage with over 41,000 fans in attendance. Shot entirely in 4K UHD resolution, the program vividly delivers the experience, the excitement, and emotions of a live concert straight to the viewers.
