Hirokazu Kore-eda’s latest film “Our Little Sister” has been selected for Competition at the 68th Cannes Film Festival

Hirokazu Kore-eda’s latest film, “Our Little Sister” (Japanese title: Umimachi Diary), which premieres on June 13, 2015, has been officially selected as one of the competition titles for the 68th Cannes Film Festival. The film will compete in the festival’s most prestigious award, the Palme d’Or. It is Mr. Kore-eda’s fourth film to be shown in competition and two years since his last film “Like Father, Like Son” which won the Jury Prize at the festival in 2013.

Based on Akimi Yoshida’s awards-winning manga “Umimachi Diary,” the film chronicles four seasons of the three sisters (Haruka Ayase, Masami Nagasawa, Kaho) in their 20s who live together in Kamakura, and are joined by their 14-year-old half sister (Suzu Hirose) after their father dies.
