Happy New Year!

The film adaptation of the hit comic-turned-television series, “odame Cantabile The Movie Part 1” was released on 409 screens across Japan on December 19th, and got off to a great start. It was recently announced that the movie will be released across Asia, where the franchise also has a strong fanbase.

The Asian film industry showed their interest immediately after the announcement of the film adaptation. The film is scheduled to be released in Hong Kong and Macau on March 4th, Taiwan on March 5th, and Singapore on March 11th. Additionally, countries including Korea are in the final stage of negotiations to welcome this fabulous film to their country.

The story follows a brilliant but quirky piano student, Megumi ‘Nodame’ Noda, played by Juri Ueno, and her aspiring conductor love interest, played by Hiroshi Tamaki. This was the first time ever that a film was shot within the historic “Wiener Musikverein”.
