“Love That Makes You Cry” win 2 awards at the 2016 Tokyo Drama Awards

“Love That Makes You Cry,” a drama series that aired from January to March 2016, won the Best Drama in the Serial Drama Category at the 2016 Tokyo Drama Awards. In addition, singer Aoi Teshima who sings the drama’s theme song captured the Best Theme Song Award.

Written by acclaimed scriptwriter Yuji Sakamoto and starring new and talented young actors and actresses, “Love That Makes You Cry” follows the story of love, friendship and growth of six young men and women who move from countryside to the big city of Tokyo, each with their own dreams and aspirations. The series has gained huge popularity among young viewers in their twenties and also appealed to audience of an older generation who looked back on their youngers days and saw themselves in the characters.

Ken Murase, Fuji TV producer of the drama commented that “Theme song is an incredibly important element of drama series.
