KING TUT exhibition in Osaka/Tokyo

Brace yourself for a never before experience in rediscovering the spirit of ancient Egypt. This spring in Osaka, and this summer in Tokyo, the “KING TUT -Tutankhamun and the golden age of the pharaohs-“ exhibition hits Japan for the very first time. Centering around 50 relics uncovered from pharaoh King Tut’s tomb, the exhibition will showcase 122 artifacts from the 18th dynasty (mid 1600B.C. to end 1400B.C.) of Egypt referred to as the New Kingdom period.

The “KING TUT -Tutankhamun and the golden age of the pharaohs-“ exhibition was launched from Europe in 2005, since then touring around major cities of the world. More than one million people have visited the exhibition thus far, and Japan will be its first stop in Asia. The exhibition in Osaka will begin March 17th (Sat) at Osaka Tenpozan Gallery(formerly Suntory Museum Tenpozan) and Tokyo from August 4th (Sat) at the Ueno Royal Museum. With collaborations between science and archaeology, developments in DNA testing and computer technologies, the countless mysteries veiled around the most well-known pharaoh, Tutankhamun are revealed.
