Fuji TV’s News Department launches “Houdoukyoku,” a completely new form of news channel exclusively for mobile devices

Fuji TV has recently announced to launch a brand new type of news channel exclusively for mobile devices called “Houdoukyoku” starting Wednesday, April 1, 2015. This new channel will allow viewers to catch the latest news clips from anywhere and anytime, and on a wide array of devices including smartphones, tablets and computers. “Houdoukyoku” will be the first trial of its kind among the news media sources in Japan, and with a special emphasis on providing news clips that are purely original, the channel will offer a robust lineup of original news clips specifically tailored for mobile devices. Its content will not be a repeat of the news programs broadcast on terrestrial channel; but rather, they will mainly center around a live broadcast from a studio. Its aim is to bring viewers not only the breaking news and immediate release on emergency press conferences as it happens, but also to supply additional information and news footage to take a deeper look into the core of news items.
