Fuji TV film, selected for Academy Awards

NOBODY TO WATCH OVER ME, Fuji’s feature film released this January, has been selected as Japan’s Oscar submission for Best Foreign Film. Written and directed by Ryoichi Kimizuka, best known as the screenwriter for the mega-hit series, BAYSIDE SHAKEDOWN, was awarded Best Screenplay at last year’s Montreal World Film Festival. NOBODY TO WATCH OVER ME is a gripping tale of a younger sister of an accused killer, who is placed under protection of a detective, focusing on how brutal the “faceless mob” can be. Last year’s Japanese submission, DEPARTURES, went on to win Best Foreign Film at the Academy Awards.
