We are happy to announce that the large-sized advertising insert for AKB48’s 5th general elections event (aired on Fuji TV on Saturday, June 8th, 2013) published on Friday, June 7th, 2013 on the morning edition of Asahi Shimbun (limited distribution of 150,000 copies in the Kanto area) received an award for the Distribution and Entertainment category in Asahi Advertising Award 2013.
This advertisement attracted a great deal of attention for having 3 different types of front side with full-length photos of Yuko Oshima, Mayu Watanabe, and Haruka Shimazaki, while the back side displayed all 246 AKB group members running for the election, and also for distributing 50,000 copies of each type of front side randomly to unspecified households in the Kanto region.
