Hitmaker Ryota Kosawa Launches his Latest Drama Project!

The original story comes from Ryota Kosawa, the hitmaker behind “The Confidence Man JP,” “Legal High!!” and “Dating -What's it like to be in love?” From heart-tugging nostalgia to sharp, exhilarating comedy and rich, character-driven drama, he has continued to deliver acclaimed works across genres.

In this latest project, Kosawa blends memories of his own boyhood with the sensibilities of today to create a story that’s funny, moving, and just a little mysterious. The drama stars a powerhouse trio: Takashi Sorimachi, Nao Omori, and Kenjiro Tsuda.

To mark the start of a new year, the story follows adults who reunite and find renewal as they confront the feeling that life hasn’t quite turned out as they expected—told through a nostalgic 1988 comedy blending coming-of-age themes with character-driven drama.

Back in 1988, the three were part of their middle school’s film research club, completely obsessed with making kung-fu movies. Now, at 51, each feel stuck in life, wondering how things ended up so far from what they once imagined.

Then one day—a shocking headline breaks: human bones found at a construction site in a city...?!
