About
During Japan's Edo period, the economy is spiraling into a deep recession, and the Japanese people are compelled to live modest, frugal, and hardworking lives. Social disparities are widening, and the people eagerly awaiting the arrival of a shogun who could improve this economic downturn and enrich the nation and its citizens.
Amidst this, Isonomiya Tomoko, is forced into a political marriage with the 10th shogun, Tokugawa Ieharu. She journeys from Kyoto to the Edo Castle's innermost precincts, the “Ooku,” where she finds herself among nearly a thousand women serving the shogun...
