“The Cliff-A Man’s Judgement-” (tentative)

Introduction

Where will the sorrowful love between the father of a victim and the mother of a murderer go, after it heads towards a catastrophic dark precipice?

This is a story of a collapse and the restoration of a victim’s family, and the family of the murderer involved in the same incident.

When Kyoichiro Shikata returns home, he receives the news, that his 14-year old son had been stabbed to death. It turns out that the assailant is a 13-year old classmate of the victim. However, due to juvenile law reforms, children under the age of fourteen, are not legally allowed to be punished in a way appropriate for their crimes.

Kyoichiro gets blamed, due to the fact that he was an workaholic, and is labeled as a savage for expressing his fury towards the 13-year old boy who murdered his son. After losing his job, friends, and his own family, who has turned their back on him, the only thing keeping this father alive, is his desire to avenge his son’s death. He possesses feelings of great hatred towards the young murderer, who is protected by a juvenile law, despite committing a heinous crime, and also towards the mother who raised him.

But fate is ironic. Kyoichiro’s feelings are deeply swayed, upon realizing the fact that the murderer’s mother is also lonely. These two parents, who both went through horrendous ordeals, are desperate for a temporary relief, from the heavy burden they both bear, and eventually begins to grow close to one another...
